It had been a long day, but a fun one. Adrian had been in his element, doing what he loved to do. It was all the better that he had a group of his friends to share the day with. Adrian on the slopes wasn't all that different from James at one of his elaborate parties. In a way, this was Adrian's party and he was playing host. He spent a bit of time with everyone throughout the day. Since he knew his way around the ski slopes and hills pretty well, he helped out anyone who needed it, whether it was putting on their equipment or using it. He also found plenty of time to ski, and later on to snowboard, and to tube and sled with the others as well.
As the day neared it's end, Adrian felt tired and could feel that he was quite sweaty under his layers of clothes, but he was still loathe to leave the snow. Leave he did, reluctantly, to join the other in the lodge for some food. Those who were going back to the school parted ways with them then, and soon enough Adrian was saying good night to the rest in the hallway as the remainder of the group found their rooms. He saw where James's room was and saw the vampire enter, and Adrian followed, albeit a little slowly, finishing up saying his goodbyes for now to his friends still in the hall. He appreciated James's generous offer to put everyone up for the night, and had been glad for he chance to get to know him better today. In return, Adrian had agreed to James wanting to hang out, just them, warming up with a hot tub soak. Adrian didn't mind at all, James was good company, and Adrian was going into the next part of the evening with an open mind.
He found himself recollecting on the day as he finally pushed open the door to James's room. He'd really needed this. Ever since the mines, no, ever since his trip to Mexico at the end of the summer, he hadn't quite been himself. Adrian had been more removed, more aloof. He'd stopped following up with his friends. Over the past month or so, he'd begun to remedy that, but this outing today had really helped. He'd had a lot of fun with Bushara, helping her learn to ski. He half-suspected she was much better than she seemed, but he didn't mind the excuse to be around her. Getting to cut up the slopes with Mickey had been great, and Adrian found that he'd really missed their friendship. He was a fun guy, and Adrian needed that. He kept a close eye on Emily as well, who'd been pretty nervous about going down a hill in any way, but he thought she'd done well. He'd gotten to know Kana and Victoria and the rest a bit better too.
As for James, Adrian had been mindful of him too. James had said he wasn't a big fan of outdoor activities like these, so Adrian had tried to prove him wrong. Adrian was having a great time out there, and tried to encourage James with his words and his smiles to do the same. He'd gone down a few hills with him, on skis and board, and had even tried the tubing and sledding with him as well. Though snowboarding really was Ade's thing, sliding down a hill superfast scrunched together in a tube with the vampire had been fun as well, and had left Adrian out of breath at the bottom of the hill from screaming and laughter.
He was thinking on that moment as he entered the room. Ade already had his jacket and hat and gloves in one hand and was zipping down his hoodie with the other. He was just wearing an underarmor shirt underneath, formfitting to his lithe frame. He shut the door and started to toe off his boots and toss his jacket and things onto a bench near the door. As he shrugged his hoodie off, Adrian looked into the room to see where James was.
