Thread: Fly
Who: Daniel Dyami and Micah Kaden
When: Nov 2nd
Where: Clearing in the woods
Daniel knocked on Kaden's door and waited. It was nearing dusk, late enough but not too late for what they had in mind. Kaden was meaning to see what Daniel was capable of as an eagle. It had been months now since the injury that had brought Daniel to the school for rehabilitation. He had healed up well by now, his cast was off and he only felt a very mild occasional discomfort in his arm. The transformations into his eagle form were no longer painful for Daniel either. He'd stretched out his wings a few times now, but had yet to attempt flight. Daniel would have to prove himself now, show that he could fly so he'd be allowed out of the dungeon for the full moon. Otherwise, that would be considered the safest place for a flightless bird.
Daniel had dressed for the biting chill of the air outside. Though he wouldn't need, or want, the layers in eagle form, his human form could use some protection from the elements. Daniel had a heavier jacket on over his hoodie, which was over his tee. He had a grey knit cap on his head and insulated work boots on his feet. He'd be kept comfortably warm until it was time to change forms.
When Kaden answered the door, Daniel let him know that he was ready and they headed outside. Daniel let the teacher lead the way toward the woods, to the clearing where Daniel would attempt his flight. He felt confident, not too nervous about the flight himself, but he'd always been protective about what he was. Someone other than his family seeing this, it was new to Daniel, something he still wasn't comfortable with. But he did trust Kaden. He'd been taught that bears were sources of strength and wisdom and healing. He couldn't help trusting Kaden. It would have been a completely different story if Kaden were a wolf, but if he were, Daniel's father wouldn't have left him in his care.
"It this it?", Daniel asked after a short while in the woods, noticing the trees starting to thin out.
