Abi was taken aback a little but held on to her son as he vaulted from the bed into her arms. She held him and swung him, unsure whether this was a ploy to avoid punishment for being cheeky and misbehaving.
But then even Hemingway was looking at her strangely, like he hadn't seen her in decades. Even his smile was one of relief at her presence before he hugged her too.
