Admittedly, he wasn't entirely comfortable with the idea of medication, but it was simply a feeling from a different time. The only thing he could imagine was being totally numb and sedated. But the reality of what he could do to Abi was worse than anything. Maybe it was easier to see that when he was feeling well enough than when he was in the thick of it.
And he really couldn't bear to see her crying. He moved toward her, and carefully wrapped his arms around her as if she were a very fragile thing. He wouldn't hold it against her if she shoved him away, but he just couldn't leave her crying over him like that. "It's okay, it's okay. I'll try to remember for you. I'm so sorry," he was whispering back.
