He looked so damn different than she remembered him; he looked like the man she loved and not the one who had hurt her. Abi took a deep breath or two and looked back at Hem, dead in the eye. "I am going to put Charlie in his room with his Thomas video and I will then talk to you, alright?"
She wasn't asking and instead carried Charlie to his bedroom. She stopped short at how she had missed this stage of his life; full of mess and toys, books everywhere and handprints on the walls. "You gonna be a good boy and watch Thomas in your room so Mama can give Papa a big hug and kiss?"
Charlie laughed and scrunched his nose up, "Dat's icky Mama!" But he soon grabbed the Thomas DVD from the bookcase and held it up to her to put into his television.
