This place was different, but Buffy refused to believe that in the depths of the streets, the darkness, that there was no vampires here. No creatures of darkness. She knew better. Sunnydale came off as completely innocent, but that place was a hellmouth. Who was to say this place was any different? It appeared freeing, unsuspecting, but Buffy could not believe she was finally away from everything that equaled her destiny. It was impossible. No. In jumping off the tower, Buffy believed she ensured herself a one-way ticket to heaven, a chance, a moment to finally make her own choice. The first time since she was fifteen, but then the portal was brief, the electric shock short-lived and then, she found herself here. Lying in sand, snow, Buffy awoke to find herself in a different world. For one, it was cold, freezing, and anything outside of California, but Buffy awoke as if it was another day. Shaking off the cold, the chill, she stood, finding herself with a communication device. Curious, the slayer reached out, typing out a message to whoever would answer and those that would not. People answered and described this place as a sort of 'Neverland'. Buffy doubted there was anything so enchanting about it; in her mind, it seemed more like a prison, the cheap version of Purgatory. Perhaps to grasp normalcy, Buffy gathered up fresh, sharpened stakes by her own hand, and tossed them into a cheap duffle bag. The only cross was the one draped around her neck and after a bit of digging, she'd managed to find clothes outside of the white turtleneck she had died in. Donning jeans and a shirt, Buffy headed out, making sure to zip up her blazer before opening the door. Cold air infiltrated her skin and Buffy muffled a shiver before heading in what she believed was the general direction of the graveyard. Not that a few graves were needed for evil to lurk. A creepy mansion could work too. Buffy paused, green eyes widening as they took in the sight of the tall gates. What the hell? A few steps and she walked through, snow crunching under her booted feet. Ahead, there was a mansion, huge, gaping and rather impressive, but...how? This world was ever changing, ever different, but perhaps she missed it. Waking up on a random beach blinded you from pretty much anything else. "Oh boy..." Buffy trailed off. The door, large, frightening, loomed in front of her and Buffy paused a few steps from the entrance. What the hell was this place? A step more and she reached out, small, but powerful fist rapping at the door. |
