It had been so nice of the pair to invite them. As of today, Thomas had never had a proper invitation as part of a couple. It was a rather odd thing. Lucille and him have always traveled together, have been to dinners together and parties but never as lovers. No one would have accepted it.
He clasped Edith's hand as he rang the doorbell. He smiled down at Edith. They were making friends. They were creating a life and these were married friends. Edith could chat to a fellow married woman about whatever female concerns she might have.
