Studying his face intently for what felt like the longest time, Abi shifted in his lap to look at him dead-on. His expression was the gamut of emotions and his eyes flickered when she said she wouldn't and couldn't leave him. She was still terrified of losing him but maybe, just maybe, they'd be able to make it work with complete honesty and openness in their relationship.
"I love you," she reiterated, grabbing a handful of his hair between her fingers. "More than damn near anything. I can't stop loving you, it's addictive..." she leant forward and pressed her lips on his. "I want to spend the rest of my life in your life with you in mine. We can do this together, old man."
