It still, even now, burned that he didn't get to see his son as he had been for the past year or more. Bruce wished he could remember back to the exact day they found him under that tree in park digging around in the dirt and analysing what he found. Every day since then, Bruce had got to raise his son and watch him grow, learn and create. He missed his smile, his laugh and his wit.
He needed to accept that Jacob as he was was gone from the island but there was so much Bruce wanted to do. He was so grateful to still have Darcy; God only knew what Bruce would do if they took his now-pregnant wife away from him too. That note just proved to him how unique she was; spending a little time flicking through the pregnancy stuff, Bruce realised how unfair he'd been to her.
