Edith had intended to spend the day down in the basement where her curiosities lie but she had become incredibly distracted by Lucille's dresses, still hanging in her closet. She knew it was wrong but Lucille had such beautiful taste and even though the designs were old, the seams were perfect and the size was almost right. She had slipped on a few and had lost track of the time until she heard Thomas's voice call out.
Forgetting herself, she hiked up the skirt of Lucille's blue dress and ran back down the stairs in excitement. She was a little more endowed than Lucille had been in the chest so it was a touch tight but she adored the colour. It made her skin look like it was glowing.
"Thomas!" she said, walking quickly to where she thought his voice was. "I was so scared you wouldn't return..." she said sincerely, pushing open the kitchen door.
