"Ugh." Maggie shook her head. "I hate that. A guy once suggested that I should work in gardening instead of construction, before he had seen me work. I wasn't sure if it was my gender or my race. Either way, I told him off, did the job perfectly and in less time then he thought it would take." She paused. "That was before the island. I suppose there are a few things here that I can't do that others can, like sprout wings or a tail, or read minds. Unless the island messes with me."
"That's good. I am glad we can be here in person now." She smiled as she held Harri again. "So I can see this little miracle grow up." She settled down into the rocking chair, hoping she hadn't made Sarah feel like she was put on the spot. "Oh, that's okay. I can see both of you in the room. Who picked out what isn't important."
