It was easier to deal with all the noise in his head now, but that was probably almost entirely down to Sunila being right there. He always paid most attention to her anyway.
He nodded as she explained, and tried to do as she said. He imagined an invisible hand picking up the pepper mill. He tried thinking about a rope pulling it up to stand straight. Izzy and some of his nieces and nephews would have lifted it with a thought, so he tried how he thought they would manage that. Nothing happened.
"Training since you were, what, Viv and Lil's age, huh? When did you start moving things?" he wondered, even as he kept trying.
After a few minutes, frustration began to creep in. Objectively, he knew there was a lot of training involved but Sunila seemed to think he could do it, so why the hell could he not make the damn thing move?
Naturally, that was when the pepper mill rolled as if someone had nudged it.
