He tried to do as she asked, and with a huge amount of effort, he managed to keep from looking away from Sunila, no matter what was being dumped in his brain. Her touch was grounding him, and helped him to concentrate on what she was telling him to do.
"I'm alright," he repeated quietly, "I'm... I'm alright... That's you? That's... you're beautiful," He smiled very faintly as he kept his focus on what had to be Sunila, reaching out with his hand to let it settle on her hair as if he could touch the spark in front of him that he could only see in his mind. "Is this... is this how you... all this, every day?"
And then her last words sunk in. "I took it?" he asked, just as the pepper mill fell over.
