He nodded, watching the food, then lifted the coffee and just held it in both hands as he sorted through his thoughts. The drink smelled amazing, and the food was real and free, which seemed far too good to be true. And apparently Tommy was here? Which was also fucked up.
Maybe he was sick. Some sort of illness that was making him dream up things that he wanted. And the snow was how the illness was being represented in his brain, or something. Although wouldn't it make more sense to have a heatwave if he had a fever? Huh.
He wasn't sure how long he'd been standing there, staring out the window at the snow and cradling a mug of coffee, but then he blinked and was back with himself. He drank a mouthful of coffee, which was a little bit cooler than he'd usually take it, but he didn't care when it tasted like that. He took another mouthful.
"This is the best coffee I've ever had, so thank you," he finally said, looking back round at Sookie and Ned. "What about the other people? On the radio. Am I supposed to know them as well? You said the little girl's related to me, and... Abigail works here? What about the others? There was a medic and his partner? Doctor and Mrs Tyler, is that right? Some guy with the same name and rank as me, a girl called Adele and some guy that just kept talking shit."
