Clint's jaw went tight and he looked away, eyes on anything but her and his daughter. It was hardly the first time it had crossed his mind and as much as he knew other people thought the same thing, that it would always follow him, he hated the way it made him feel, like they were just watching and waiting for him to fail. But he never tried to stop them, to defend himself, because he knew it was his best defense. "I don't think that. I try. Every day I try with whatever I have to be the best I can for them, but I know I'm never too far from being that man. But I also know there are far too many people here who could, and would, stop me. No matter what it took."
