She blinked in confusion at the answer, figuring that the woman wasn't nearly old enough to have adult children, but then she figured most things about the island were strange to her. They had told her it was an island, at least, though she had no proof.
"She is a very well behaved baby. I don't hear her crying for long," she commented, stepping warily into the elevator. "I can't have them and I shouldn't. It was a mercy, really."
