Jack moved quickly through the streets. He was worried and he wasn’t used to that. He had grown up with a removed father and nutty stepmother, neither of whom really cared that much about Jack. His father had tried, but found himself stifled by her. Abi seemed different and his father was markedly so, and there there was Amy. In this version of this damned place he had people he cared about, and he didn’t know what to do with that
