Cuddy wasn't the high and mighty one. She had of course made sure her apartment was empty and not being used for other purposes, before moving in. She had ensured it was alright to work at the hospital before starting there. She hadn't heard a call or seen a network post from this man, and she could no longer blame it on a lack of a phone. He simply couldn't be bothered and thought his needs were more important than everyone else's, so he stole public space.
It was an all too familiar feeling. Setting up a section of the public park as his personal camp site without asking anyone if it was alright wasn't that different from House laying claim to hospital equipment without asking other doctors. Not cleaning up after his horse was not that different than the many messes House left behind for her to deal with. Attacking her parenting and her children was another House tactic, one saved for when he was at his worst.
With House, she knew she was safe even when their arguments grew heated. There was even a charm and a strong, mutual friendship there. Hell, she enjoyed it at times. This was different; this was a stranger. He could be dangerous and so she calmly let him finish his outburst before speaking. She was also thinking about how animals were newly venturing into the park, or everyone that had told her bigger animals stuck to the places like the forest and jungle were all mistaken. She certainly hadn't seen animals or massive piles of feces on her night runs.
"It's not about anyone literally playing in feces. There are children who like clean places to play and adults who like parks. There are also those who've had their weddings here and may want to have their anniversaries here too, birthdays, other celebrations. They all let us know when they'd be using the park, and what they'd use it for, even if they were only using a tiny portion. And all those events were feces free." She paused and kept herself from letting him continue to pull her along the feces tangent. "The feces aren't the biggest issue. Not by far. You have a phone and yet didn't even let us know you'd be using this space instead of finding a private camping site. You haven't even used it to introduce yourself. Normally, I'm content to allow people their privacy. But when using public space, there is a natural desire to know who you are and what your plans are. And you did nothing to let us know or alleviate any of our concerns." An adult man living out in the open, around children, without even a hello. It was deeply troubling. She couldn't make him respect the people on the island anymore than she could make House respect his patients though. "If I'm wrong, then please show me where you let everyone know you'd be taking this space for yourself and your plans for it. And I will gladly apologize."
