It's good to have things to do. Q had thought for a few moments that he was likely to go completely insane without the pressure on him to create and make and hand out gadgets and weapons and whatnot. And whilst it wasn't exactly the same kind of intensity, finding something to allow Eames to wander around and use his computer and phone had taken up a fair portion of his time and had been incredibly satisfying.
The computer code to make the writing audible was a little bit too easy. He had a lot of access to programs of that ilk, so it was really only a matter of adapting it to the computer system they used and putting it on a drive to install on Eames' computer. What excited him the most were the odd little patches he had come up with. They had been complicated and thus more fun than Q could have imagined. There were twelve in total, each flat enough to stick on whatever clothes Eames was wearing via the high-tech method of pinning, and each with a tiny sonar frequency that had taken several solid hours (and about twenty pages of notes and equations and testing) to work out, let alone put together. Rummaging through the odd bits and pieces in the city to try and find something that would suit the need. Trying to find twelve working microchips had also been a bit of a strain.
But having compiled them all they were possibly his greatest achievement to date. The tiny chirp they gave off was almost silent, and for that reason would only register something within five feet of Eames on all sides, but as long as he walked slowly there shouldn't be much of a problem. On hitting something, the pads vibrated gently to let Eames know which part of his body was going to crash into something, as long as they were placed all around his body.
So Q is very pleased with himself when he packs them up and heads off to Eames' place.
