Who? Dmitri & Eggsy
Where? St Petersburg
When? Backdated to when the door first opened
What? Language lessons
Rating? Low, I think
Open? No

Dmitri had been through the door first, checked on Rodya and gave him some soup and tea. His friend had fallen back asleep eventually, and so he had gone to his own place and picked up some clothes for Eggsy, to make sure he wouldn't stand out for anything more than his accent.

Then he had gone back for him, getting him to change and then coming through the door with him. The door led onto one of the many bridges, bustling with people at this time of day, hurrying from one side of the city to the other. Dmitri nodded the direction, and took him over to the side that was more familiar to him. Market stalls had men and woman shouting out prices and offers, signs in Cyrillic, not a scrap of English in sight anywhere. Not on street signs, or shop windows, or on the tongues of anyone passing by.

Eggsy did his best not to gape as he looked all round himself, at this place which was so entirely different to anything he'd ever seen before, and he mostly managed it. But the complete immersion in a different language, that was... yeah, that was the shocker. Even when he'd been thrown in at the deep end with Kingsman, he'd been able to understand everything that was said to him or anything he could read.

His training and his lessons with Dmitri soon began to kick in, though. He paused near one stall where a woman was chatting with a friend in between yelling to potential customers about what he assumed was the types of fruit she was selling, and concentrated on her voice. Soon, he was picking up on words and phrases he knew from his lessons, muttering the translations quietly as he tried to work through them. "... her husband... her husband does what all night?"

For Dmitri, of course, it was quite the opposite. It felt like his brain was finally relaxed, not having to constantly translate one way or the other. It wasn't just the language, but that these very streets were so familiar to him, and some of the faces around the marketplace.

"Khrap-" he repeated. "He is snoring all night," he explained with a laugh. "It is like- the ch in Bach," he explained. "Kh-rap."

"He's ch-rapping all night? That's aces, mate," Eggsy said, mostly to himself, before walking up to the woman and waiting for her to finish talking to her friend before smiling at her.

"[Hello. I am only learn Russian. Please excuse mistakes,]" he began, his grammar all over the place, although he spoke confidently enough and loud enough that Dmitri could hear as well, "[Could I has the apples, please?]"
