"Hockey? I do not know hockey," he told her, intrigued. He had heard of Toronto, however, and that was strangely pleasing to him. He did rather prefer to be able to keep up with the conversation. He was out of date, and lost in translation. It was hard to keep his head above water sometimes - infuriating, considering he was an educated man, not used to being unable to communicate effectively.
