Mary Ellen still wasn't sure if her dad would be coming tonight or not, but she told the other woman, her grandmother, that she'd be there, so she would.
Before she left the apartment she slipped out of her pjs and back in to her jeans and a simple t-shirt and then pulled a small box from one of her top drawers. It had been something that came along with her when she first showed up in the past and she'd been grateful her dad had saved it for her. She opened it up and sifted through, pulling out some photos from her childhood, mostly any that showed both her and Dean, then a few more that she'd been able to get through a door once, ones from her dad's childhood too. There weren't many of him, but plenty of the both of them and she hoped that'd be enough to help her grandmother believe. Hunters had a tendency to need proof and she figured this would be the best she could do if her dad didn't come.
She kissed her husband and left, grabbing her mother's jacket on her way out and tucking the pictures in to the pocket. It wasn't really cold enough that she needed it but it was a bit of a safety blanket for her. She walked pretty quickly to the diner but not too much, not wanting to start sweating.
Stepping in the door it wasn't hard to tell who she was looking for. She'd seen a few pictures and met some form of the woman when they had access to heaven. And now, seeing her in person again, a little bit younger, Mary could understand what her father meant when he said she looked like his mother sometimes. She walked to the table and offered a small smile as she sat opposite her namesake. "Hello again."
