It was like a familiar blanket around her body, one that was a distant memory somewhere in the recesses of her mind. Sook twitched her fingers as she started to wake up, her head fogged and woozy from something in her system. It was probably for the best, she considered as she tried to prise her eyelids open. Judging by the ache everywhere on her body, there was some extraneous pain that she did not want to feel. It seemed to take a lot longer for her to wake up than normal too, her mind tugging at a conscious state and then lulling her back to sleep like a child.
After what seemed like hours between asleep and awake, her eyes opened and she realised why she'd recognised the smell and the faint hum of someone's thoughts in her head. She coughed and tried to sit up but grimaced at the sharp gut-ache she received. Why wasn't anyone here?
"Hello?" she croaked out, putting her palm on her stomach as she tried to sit up again.
