Having grown up, played with, and fought beside someone over the course of thousands of years kept one sharply in tune to the distinct differences of their voice. Sif understood the call of battle better than even Thor himself; while the fury of the storm and all it's creative and destructive force was in his blood, battle was in hers. Barely had he taken another breath that Sif was readying herself in armor that fit better than her own skin. Her twin black blades, enchanted like no other in the known universe, drawn and at her sides as she followed her beloved friend out the front door. She had heard him order Katherine to stay within the safety of the home, and did not question it or give it a second thought. Thor was off with the wind, and she followed- whirling with her swords in the specific dance to activate their magic, and cut through the fabric of space to follow him wherever he lead. They were designed to take her wherever she desired, even if their magic did not work to remove her from this island, Sif never had any problem finding him.
She appeared with a flash of blinding Asgardian red and gold light, not far from where his lightning called to the ground. Invaders, obviously- she'd not seen their like anywhere on the island. And not exactly friendly- but they were coordinated. And durable. Between the two of them, Thor with his mighty Mjolnir and she with her blades, working together over hours had only beaten back the mindless swarms one city block. And after hours of fighting, smashing, and slicing through the strange creatures flooding the streets, well into the night- or what should have been the night, as the sky had been blackened by smoke that choked the air in the mass destruction- two of the massive machines that seemed to drive them had shadowed down on the area.
From inside the building the two gods had barricaded themselves inside as a last resort to regroup, the walls shuddered and vibrated with their horrible bellow, and the darkness inside glowed red as it's Eye swept destruction across the structures along the street. A street collecting still more of the smaller enemies they had spent the last day beating back.
"Eventually, that eye will find us," Sif breathed to her companion, her armor scuffed and dented- ash and dust caked in the black substance that spilled from those things' bodies when she sliced through them- as well as her own blood.
