She understood earth customs quite well by now, having spent far more time on the island than back in her own universe even accounting for the decades between leaving and coming back. There wasn't the slightest doubt in her mind what the ring represented.

Part of her wanted to refuse this blatant sign of attachment, while the rest of her wanted to whoop for joy. "Is this what you'd been thinking about the last few days? It's beautiful!"
