Mitchell’s whole body hurt when he woke up. It was not just the leg anymore. Tiny bits of aches and pains seem to hide in his body wherever they could, tormenting him from the inside. He turned around, groaning. What the fuck…? But there was something else, something stirring, like a beast clawing its way to the outside. Not the hunger. Something else. Something hot and cold, something trying to burst through his skin and rip it apart. WHAT THE FUCK…? Mitchell ripped his eyes open and the world around him went white. An unbearable noise tried to destroy his cochlea. As fast as it came, it was gone again. Mitchell tried to scream as pain filled his body. It was everywhere. Every nerve felt as if it were ripped apart. But no noise left his mouth, not even the tiniest whimper.
He tossed and turned, shut his eyes in an attempt to flee. But he couldn’t. He seemed to be caught in it. The pain. The… he couldn’t quite name it. There was something. Something in him, something out of him. He didn’t know what it was. It was freaking scary. And all the while the temperature seemed to rise. It climbed degree after degree. No sun! He wasn’t happy. What the fuck was going on?!?
