"It's a lovely idea," he told her, genuinely pleased that she had suggested it. It really would make him feel more at home, more at ease with the island. And there were always things that could be expressed in letters, that couldn't be worded properly in conversation. He wrote letters all the time, and it was strange to be out of that habit on the island.
"Oh, we're almost there. Where we came out of the door? It's just there, it was just empty at that time," he told her, still holding her close as he guided her through the dirtier area of the town.
"Umm... it's just that he became obsessed with Zelda, for whatever fucking reason, and she's the only one he's ever been with. I don't know that he's bad with women, so much as a lack of interest," he explained, defending him for once, when to his face he would so easily tear him down. He laughed softly, and gave her a little nudge. "I'll let you know my findings," he teased, as the cafe came into view on the corner.
"This is it," he nodded to the building. "Ready for this?" he grinned at her.
