"Good to know," he laughed, holding her a little closer to keep her warm in the cooler air outside.
He looked up when she mentioned it, and smiled thoughtfully. "Mm, having electric lights is still considered an extravagance," he explained. "It kind of softens everything, really," he added.
"Yeah, of course I can! It's not like I'm liable to smash a glass over anyone's head, or accidentally anger the mob or anything-" he joked. He gave her a look of mild concern at that one. "Oh, God, what? Do I want to know?" he laughed nervously.
