Applejack slowly loosened her hold on her friend. Easing back just a little to get a look at her. "Oh Sugarcube." She whispered softly, knowing if she didn't whisper that her voice would quake. And she didn't want Rarity to get to crying, which no doubt would set off her own water works.
She forced a little smile instead and trailed her hands down to Rarity's. "I know it seems rough now, but you'll have a little bit of him to remember forever. And who knows, he might be back right quick." She hoped so for her friend's sake. She hoped for it so very hard.
"Here have a seat. I gotta make you and that baby good and fat." Applejack teased, pulling a stool around the island to the kitchen side, and patting the cushioned seat.
