WHO: Luke Castellan and Thalia Grace
WHERE: At the beach
WHEN: Saturday, Dec 8
WHAT: Luke and Thalia go out on a date like normal people
RATING: R - bases get rounded
STATUS: log; complete.
He'd found a car. It hadn't been exactly easy, but he'd managed to to get his hands on a convertible. He planned to bring it back, but he figured he could borrow it for an evening-- and had convinced the owner to let him have it for a few hours. It was good timing, for he and Thalia had planned to have a date night, since they were trying this whole "being normal people" thing. So promptly at six thirty, he pulled up to the apartment building, parking the car. He was just getting out to make his way into the building when he saw her making her way outside. Luke smiled- she looked amazing, as always- and he was glad that he'd dressed a little bit nicer when he'd gone out earlier. "Hey, Lia," he said, greeting her with a hug and a brief kiss. It still amazed him that he could do that now, but he loved it. "Guess what I got for us!" So far, Thalia was really liking this whole “dating like a normal person” thing. She got to spend as much time with Luke as she wanted - something she hadn’t been able to do since they were kids and on the street - and more importantly, she got to kiss him as much as she wanted. That was something she hadn’t been able to do at all, but she definitely liked it. It was as if the years of being a virginal Hunter had been all piling up, and trying to escape her all at once - leading to some very satisfying make-out sessions. Tonight was actually a date night, which was a completely new experience for her as well. Luke had promised that their first date was going to be a memorable one, and Thalia was excited to see what he had planned. When Luke promised something memorable, he delivered. Although she wasn’t the type to get all dressed up, she did take extra care with her clothing tonight. She didn’t go so far as to wear a dress, but her jeans actually didn’t have any holes in them, and there were no macabre prints on her shirt - in fact, it was actually a pretty nice, lacy black top with a turquoise camisole underneath. It was quintessentially Thalia, but a more elegant version. She was waiting in the lobby of the apartment complex, but when she saw Luke, she didn’t bother waiting for him to come in to get her. She ran out to meet him. “Hi!” she said, returning his kiss enthusiastically. “Whatcha get?” "Should I tell you, or do you want the surprise?" Luke asked, taking her hand as he turned to lead her toward the parking lot. He slowed as they approached the car and he hit the remote to unlock it, the lights flashing and signal beeping. He opened the passenger door for her and offered a cheerful smile. "You wanted to go for a drive, yes?" Thalia’s eyes went wide when she saw the gorgeous baby-blue convertible. When she’d talked about making out in a car, she’d been half-joking, but it seemed like he had taken it to heart. “I love you,” she declared, and she threw her arms around him to kiss him thoroughly for the surprise. “Best surprise ever. Where’d you even get this?” Luke caught her as she threw her arms around him and he lifted her just off the ground, returning her kiss. "Mayyybe best if we don't ask. I- um. Borrowed it. Managed to sweet talk the owner." He was no child of Aphrodite who had the gift of charmspeak, but he was a son of Hermes. Even if he didn't always like to admit it. He offered a bashful smile as he set her back down, then let her take her seat before he closed the door, crossing over to slide into the driver's seat. "Where do you think we should go? Out to the beach, maybe? We can pick some dinner up on the way out there, if you'd like?" “Hey, you know I’m not going to judge,” Thalia told him when he evaded her question. After all, they’d “borrowed” stuff frequently when they’d been on the run, and she’d been just as complicit in it as he had. She wasn’t going to give him any grief for bringing her such a sweet ride - or proposing such a sweet plan. “That sounds great,” she told him with a smile. “We can have a picnic in the car and just watch the waves roll in.” "I know you won't," Luke replied, putting the car into reverse to back out, then starting out of the lot. His hand found hers as he pulled out onto the main road. "What sounds good to you? Pizza, burgers, something else?" He glanced to her with a smile, then looked back to the streets as he drove. As much as Thalia loved burgers - they were her favourite food in the whole world - she wanted something a little less messy, because she didn’t want her hands smelling like ketchup and beef when she ran them through Luke’s hair later that night. “How about Chinese?” she suggested, squeezing his hand. That was easy and clean to eat, and no hands were required. "We can do Chinese," Luke replied with a smile. It didn't take them very long to reach the restaurant, and from there it was another twenty minutes or so to get their food. Once they had it, he drove them out to the beach, glad that he did remember how to drive fairly decently-- it had been a few years since he'd been behind the wheel of a vehicle. He drove them out to a relatively secluded spot overlooking the water, and once he parked, he looked back to her with a playful smile. "Should we put the roof down?" “Absolutely,” Thalia said, smiling back at him. The sea wasn’t either of their domains - that was Percy’s - but there was something about sitting in a convertible with the boy you loved, with the salt-flecked breeze running through your hair and the stars shining overhead that just made everything seem perfect and romantic. “Do you think we’d be together if we were normal people?” she asked as she started on her food. Her dreamy tone suggested that she very much thought so. “Like, if we went to a proper high school and stuff?” Luke put the roof back, adjusting the wheel so he had room in his lap for his food. He was quiet for a moment, simply enjoying this time with her like this. They still didn't know if this was a permanent change for her, and if it wasn't, he really wanted to savor every second they had together. He started on his own food and looked back to her at her question. "I have no doubt that we would have," he replied. "I mean- you're beautiful. Inside and out. So strong and smart and tough as nails and- gods, you have no idea how easily you could get me to do anything you wanted with just a look. You still could, if you wanted." The look she slanted him then was pure invitation. Thalia was new to the flirting thing, but she found that with Luke, everything just came naturally. “I’ll have to put that to the test later,” she murmured. But she smiled, pleased, at his reply. “Though I wish I’d known that when we were younger. I think I would’ve tried to kiss you like I wanted to. I had the biggest crush on you, you know.” Luke felt his face warm up at the look she gave him and he smiled. "Really? Sometimes I could have sworn you did. I liked you, too, but I don't- I don't think I ever let myself consider the possibility. If I told you and you didn't feel the same, then what? I didn't want to lose you or scare you off." “Me too,” Thalia admitted. She laughed softly. “It’s funny. I had absolutely no problem going up against a dragon or a cyclops, but telling you how I felt? I was just too scared for that. I was terrified I’d ruin what we had if I told you and you had to tell me that I was cute, but I was just way too young for you or something.” "We aren't that far apart in age," he replied, shaking his head. "I mean. Well, now it might seem like we are, but back then..No, I don't think I would ever have thought that." Luke finished his food- hey, he ate fast- and closed his container, dropping them back into the bag. "I was the same, though. And.. I don't know. I guess I was just so worried about making sure that you and Annabeth were okay, you know?" “Yeah, I know,” Thalia said softly. “You were always so good at looking out for us.” That was partly why it had hurt so much to find out that he had turned. He’d looked out for them the whole time, and she just couldn’t understand why he would turn on them like that. She looked at him, her eyes brilliantly blue even in the darkening night. “I’m really glad we’re here now. You know. On the same side. And together.” "You think? I never felt like I'd done well enough," Luke admitted, looking back to her at her words. "I am, too. I'm..I'm really sorry it all went down the way it did. But there's..we have now." He was quiet for a moment, then reached into his pocket, pulling out a small, wrapped box- inside was a necklace that he'd found for her. "I have a present for you." She looked at him, surprised and pleased, at the present. It was utterly unexpected, but she was happy for it all the same. She set aside her take-out box and eagerly opened the box, her eyes widening when she saw the necklace within. “Oooh,” she breathed, as she took it out and let it dangle from her hand. “It’s perfect.” Wings and a thunderbolt. It was a symbol of them, right there. She gave him a shining smile, then handed it over to him and twisted around in her seat. “Put it on me?” Luke smiled as she handed it to him and he nodded, placing it around her neck and fastening it into place. "How's that feel?" He lets his fingers trail gently along her neck as he pulled his hands away, letting her hair fall back into place. "It looks good on you." She shivered a little at the touch of his hand on the back of her neck. She’d discovered recently that it was a particularly sensitive spot. “It feels great,” she murmured, looking down to admire the way it nestled on her skin. Then, turning to look back at him, she pushed herself up and crawled over the gear shift to kiss him. “Thank you.” "You're welcome," Luke replied, a hand coming up to gently cup her cheek as she moved over to kiss him. He kissed her again, and then smiled playfully. "Wanna move to the back seat?" “Oh, you smooth talker, you,” Thalia teased. But she didn’t need too much sweet talk. He’d already wooed her plenty, between the convertible and the beach and the necklace, and besides, she wanted to move to the back seat as much as he did. “Come on,” she said, and instead of getting out of the car like a normal person, she just crawled over the back of her seat and tumbled to the back seat, laughing. “Your turn!” Luke couldn't help but watch as she crawled to the back, laughing as she tumbled over. He turned, climbing over as well, landing not-quite-gracefully half on top of her. "Sorry!" He moved to sit up a bit, less on top of her, a hand coming up to smooth down her hair, tucking a bit behind her ear. She wrapped her arms around him to prevent him from moving too far away, though, and she smiled up at him as he tucked her hair back. “I love you,” she whispered. “I know I just told you that...but I think it needs to be said more.” "I love you too." Luke smiled as her arms went around him. "You can say that any time you want, you know. I could never tire of hearing it." He kissed her again, nipping lightly at her lower lip. "Let me know if I'm squishing you, alright?" “Okay,” Thalia agreed, lifting her head for another kiss. In truth, she liked having some of his weight on her, covering her. It made her heat up inside and want something...more. She wasn’t quite sure what it was, but she did know that soon even their increasingly passionate kisses weren’t going to be enough. For now, however, she contented herself with doing exactly what they’d agreed to do: making out in the car, with no one around to disturb them. Luke shifted a little bit, leaning over her. One hand came up, fingers toying with her hair as the other slid to the small of her back, holding her close. His lips parted against hers, deepening their kisses as she let him. It amazed him that she wanted this with him, that they were finally able to do this. Thalia responded eagerly, her hands slipping under his shirt to feel the warm, smooth skin underneath as their kisses deepened. She felt like she was drowning, and he was the air she needed. How had she ever thought she could last an eternity without this? She’d obviously had no idea what she’d been missing. Luke made a low sound as he felt her hands on his skin. "Lia," he whispered, voice low as he shifted slightly to trail kisses along her jaw line. "Gods, you're- you're beautiful..." Oh, she liked that sound. Her hands slid up his back and around his sides to the hard, flat planes of his abs and chest as she attempted to find a way to get him to make that sound again. It was a little difficult, given that the kisses he was giving her were playing havoc on her focus. “Luke,” she breathed, unconsciously sliding one of her legs over his. “You can...you can touch me too, if you want.” Luke smiled against her skin at the breathy way she said his name. He nibbled lightly on her earlobe, the hand at her back slipping just under the hem of her shirt, fingers seeking her warm skin. "If there's- if you need me to stop anything, just- you only have to say-" “I don’t want you to stop,” she murmured. His hand on her soft skin was warm, rough with the callouses born of a lifetime of wielding a sword. It only added to the goosebumps she felt when he brushed them over her back. Her hands continued to roam over his back as she pulled him closer to her, wanting to feel him against her. "Okay," he whispered, hand sliding around her side to her belly. Her skin was so soft beneath his fingertips, and he moaned softly as she pulled him closer. "Lia- please-" He didn't quite know what he was asking for, what he wanted, he just wanted her closer. It was exactly what she wanted as well, but she wouldn’t have been able to put it to words. All she knew was that she wanted more - more of him, more of his kisses, more of him against her. Her hands caught at the hem of his shirt, and despite the chill of the night air, he felt as if he were burning. She started to tug his shirt off, wanting to feel more of his skin. Luke's breath caught as she started to tug off his shirt, but he pulled back just enough to let her pull it off. His shirt fell somewhere to the side and he closed his eyes for just a moment before looking back to her. His hand moved up under her shirt, fingers hesitantly sliding just over the fabric of her bra. "Is this- can I..?" Thalia nodded, her eyes wide with desire and a bit of nervousness. The sheer need she felt was new and frightening to her, but she wasn’t frightened of it. Not when Luke was right there with her. As long as he was there, she felt, she didn’t have to be afraid. Not anymore. “Please,” she whispered. “I need...I need you.” Luke palmed her breast over the fabric of her bra, not pressing for anything more. He kissed her again, softly. "I need you, too," he admitted. "I'm not- I don't want to do anything you aren't sure of, Thalia. Okay? I mean it." The desire in her eyes was mirrored in his as he looked down at her, but he also knew that the last thing he wanted was to scare her off, or do something that either of them might regret. “I know,” she said, smiling faintly at him. For all that he had done and all the horrific mistakes he had made in the past, he wasn’t going to hurt her now. Thalia knew that as well as she knew her own name. It was that certainty and his assurance that emboldened her enough to cover his hand with hers and guide his fingers under her bra. “This is okay,” she whispered. “I want it.” Luke looked down to his hand for a moment as she slid his hand under her bra. Oh gods above. He made a soft sound and leaned down to nip at her lower lip. "You are so beautiful," he whispered, fingers sliding over her soft skin. "I've always thought you were." “Oh gods,” she whimpered as his hand moved over her breast. His kisses were great, and she loved the feel of his hand over her skin, but that - that right there - gave her such a sharp jolt of pleasure that she arched up involuntarily against him. “This is incredible,” she whispered back, her hands sliding feverishly over his bare back. “You’re incredible.” Luke made a soft sound as she arched up against him, and he moved against her, hips pressing just against hers. "We are," he replied, nipping at her lower lip. He trailed kisses down along the column of her throat, then down, tugging her shirt just out of the way, lips following the path of her skin as it was bared to him. He was right: together, they were incredible. They’d always made a good team, the two of them, ever since she’d run into them in that dragon’s den outside of Charlotte, and this was just one more exhilarating journey for the both of them to go on together. But soon even those thoughts abandoned her as his lips left a trail of need and desire down her collarbone and lower still. “Oh,” she breathed, her eyes going wide. She removed her hands from his back, but only so she could help him tug down the neckline of her shirt. Since it was lace, it provided little resistance. Without fully being conscious of it, she was guiding his lips down to her breast. It was still covered by her bra, but that could be easily fixed. Luke smiled against her skin, and he pulled his hand from under her shirt, moving up to gently tug the fabric of her shirt and her bra aside. His lips closed over her nipple, suckling lightly, teasing her as his other hand moved to cover her other. Gods, she was beautiful. He hummed softly against her skin, nipping lightly. He could do this all night if she'd let him, and be perfectly content-- it still amazed him that she wanted anything like this with him at all. If he was willing to do this all night, Thalia was more than willing to let him. His mouth felt amazing on her, and it made her burn for more. She made little sounds of encouragement as she writhed under him, her hands running mindlessly through his hair and over his back. “Gods, Luke,” she whispered. “Don’t stop. It feels so good.” Luke closed his eyes as he felt her fingers in his hair- gods, but that felt good. He nodded, slowly, then nipped lightly at her skin, soothing the spot with a gentle kiss. "Will you stay with me tonight? Not to- we don't have to do any more than this. I just..I want to fall asleep holding you." “Yes,” Thalia whispered immediately. They’d fallen asleep in each other’s arms before, back on the street when sharing a sleeping bag was the only way to keep themselves from freezing, but it had never been like this, with so much awareness of his strength and body so close to her, covering her perfectly as if they had been made for each other. “Do you...” she blushed, looking nervous. “Is there anything I can do for you? I want to make you feel good too.” Luke looked up in surprise at her question. He smiled, then moved back up to kiss her on the lips, sweetly. "You're already doing everything right now. I mean- I'm-pleasing you, and that's- I'm fine, Lia. Promise." Thalia kissed him back, gently at first and then with a little more heat. “Are you sure?” she asked, her lips still brushing his. “Because I want to make you feel as good as you’re making me.” "I'm not- I can't- if we did more, I don't think I could- I don't want to lose control." Luke knew he was speaking in broken half-sentences, but he couldn't quite help it. "I just- I like making you feel good." Thalia liked the idea of making him lose control. He’d been so restrained and reserved since coming back, as if he were afraid that even allowing himself to feel or do too much would release the Titan all over again, but Thalia had faith that he was beyond that. She’d love to have him squirming under her like he’d just made her do under him sometime...but right now she wasn’t quite ready for whatever it took to get him there. “I feel good just being with you,” she murmured, kissing him again. “But I want to do more sometime. And it’s okay if you lose control. You won’t hurt me.” Luke made a low sound as she kissed him again. "I- if you really want to. I mean. It isn't that I don't want-" His cheeks flushed, and he looked down to the space between them, taking a careful breath before shifting to guide her hand down to feel him over the fabric of his jeans. "If you couldn't tell already..." Thalia gasped as she felt his hardness under his jeans. She’d heard about how men reacted to desire - it was one of those things whispered amongst the Hunters out of the earshot of Artemis - but she’d never experienced it herself. She experimentally moved her hand over where he’d placed it. “Does it...what does it feel like?” "For you or for me-?" Luke asked quietly, not quite sure what she meant. His eyes had closed as she moved her hand and he bit his lower lip, pressing his hips just back toward her touch. "Did you want- don't feel like you have to-" “No, I want to,” she said softly. She hadn’t been sure about it at first, but seeing his blissful expression and knowing that she’d been the one to cause it made her want to give him more of it. “Just tell me what to do. How does it feel for you?” "Good, so far," Luke admitted, opening his eyes and looking back to her. He was nervous, yes, and he was sure she could see it, but there was also desire in his eyes. "I- if you wanted to- to unzip- or-" Gods, he was so bad at this. Thalia wasn’t any better at this. She’d spent so long as a Hunter that she’d missed out on the girl talk that had anything to do with what to do with boys. She was regretting that now, because she really wished she was doing now. As it were, all she could do was follow his lead and hope she didn’t mess up. Her hands were trembling as she reached down to unzip his jeans, and once she did that, it seemed like the natural thing to do was to slip her hands inside, wrapping them around the boxer-briefs covering him. “Is this...is this okay?” Luke shifted a little, adjusting so his weight wasn't so directly on top of her. His breath caught as she unzipped his jeans and her hand moved over him and he nodded. "Yeah. Better- better than okay," he whispered, leaning down to press a kiss just to the curve of her neck. Thalia closed her eyes briefly with pleasure. “Keep doing that,” she urged him softly, as she started moving her hand over him in light strokes. She really didn’t know what she was doing, but as long as he liked it, she was going to keep doing it. "Okay," Luke whispered against her skin, nipping lightly and soothing the spot with a kiss. She might have a hickey later, but he knew he'd probably have one, too, and the idea didn't really bother him all that much. His hand moved back over her breast, touching and teasing a little, though he stilled a moment, distracted as her hand moved over him. "Gods, Lia. That's- just like that." Thalia didn’t mind it either. The sharpness of the nip was a pleasurable contrast to the soothing kisses she got right after, and she definitely liked the way his hand felt on her. At his encouragement, she moved her hand a little faster, a little more insistently, over him. At the same time, she arched up against him to kiss him hungrily once more. “Luke, I...is there more? I want more.” Luke made a low sound as her hand moved faster over him and he easily- happily- returned her kisses. "For you? Or for me? I'm- I'm sure there is, if- for both." The hand at her breast trailed down, fingers skimming over her middle to gently hook his finger in the waistband of her jeans. "What- what do you want, love?" Thalia didn’t know what she wanted, only that whatever it was he was doing, he needed to do more of it. “For both,” she whimpered, lifting her hips to him to give him a better angle on her jeans. “Just give me...please...” It took a moment of fumbling, but Luke eventually had her jeans unbuttoned and unzipped. He slid a hand down into her jeans, fingers seeking her center. He only knew the theories of this- he'd never touched a girl like this before, and he hoped that he didn't screw it up too badly. "If you wanted-if you wanted to touch everything-" Thalia’s eyes flew open when his fingers found her. She’d never had that intimate a touch before, and it was amazing. He might be unsure of what he was doing, but Thalia wouldn’t have been able to tell. This was even better than his kisses on her neck, or his tongue on her breast. This made heat coil up in her stomach and her breath catch. She even forgot to keep touching him, it was so unexpected and wonderful. Luke couldn't help but smile faintly at her reaction and he leaned down to kiss her once more, his fingers moving with a little more confidence than he felt. "If it- if you don't like anything, or if I can- can do more or better, just- just say, okay?" He spoke softly against her skin, hsi voice low and a little rougher than usual. Gods, but she was beautiful, and he knew he was growing even more aroused with each passing moment. “No, no, just keep doing this,” she whispered, clutching his hips tightly as she squirmed under him. His fingers, coupled with that low and rough voice that she’d never heard from him before, were driving her mad with need and desire. His hard length against her stomach reminded her that she’d almost forgotten about his needs, and she returned her hands to him, this time letting her fingers dip under his boxer-briefs to wrap her hand against the hot, hard heat of him. "Okay," he breathed, eyes closing as her fingers dug into his sides. He slipped his fingers past her knickers, finding her hot and slick with need- gods, he'd never felt anything like it and it was amazing that she'd let him do this. He was distracted for a moment as he felt her hand and he stilled, hips jerking just slightly toward her touch. "Gods, I love you, Lia." “I love you too,” Thalia started to say, but then his fingers touched her centre and she momentarily lost the ability to think, let alone speak. But even as her mind went into sensory overload, her body was moving instinctively, her hips against his hand, her hand on him. Luke smiled at her reaction and he kissed her briefly, before moving to trail his lips along the column of her throat, his hand still moving between her legs. He knew that he probably wasn't going to take much longer with her hand on him like it was. "You can- you can let go, Lia. I want you to feel good." He carefully slid a finger into her, his thumb brushing over her most sensitive flesh. If Thalia thought having his fingers playing with her centre was mindblowing, having one in her, with his thumb there was so unexpectedly amazing that she yelped in surprise and shot back so fast that she nearly hit her head against the car door. “Oh!” she gasped, utterly mortified at her response. That had got to be the most embarrassing way to break the mood ever. Luke's hand stilled as she pulled back and he carefully pulled it away, moving it to rest just at her hip. "Gods, Lia, are you alright?" he asked, his eyes wide in surprise. His other hand moved up to gently smooth down her hair, moving over the spot that she almost hit. "I- sorry, I can- I can stop-" “No, no, I...um...” Away from the haze of pleasure, Thalia was starting to realize that they were half-naked, with their pants almost down, in an open-topped convertible where anybody could see. There was a part of her - a very strong part - that just wanted to say the hell with it and drag him down for more of what he’d just been doing, but she forced herself to take a bracing breath. “Don’t be sorry,” she said. Her heart was still hammering like it was about to come out of her chest, and she wanted to kiss that concerned look off his face. “I...it was great, really. But um...we should probably back off a bit.” "I- right. Sorry." Luke's face heated up and he closed his eyes for a moment, taking a careful breath before he moved off of her, sitting up on the seat next to her. He glanced around- nobody was around, and he bit his lower lip, shifting to pull his shorts and jeans into place. "Did you- did you want to stay here, or- or we could head back?" “Uh...” Thalia hated to leave the evening like this, so awkward and uncomfortable, when it had been so incredible so far. She busied herself with fixing her top and zipping her jeans back up as she thought. “It is getting a little cold. Do you want to go back and hang out a bit at your place?” "Yeah, we can definitely do that." He looked back to her, a hand coming up to smooth down her hair, tucking a bit behind her ear. "I- I'm sorry. I didn't- I wasn't trying to-" Luke offered a smile and then moved out of his seat to move back up to the driver's seat. "We could watch a movie or something?" “I know you weren’t,” Thalia was quick to assure him. She wanted him to know that, at least - that she hadn’t felt pressured or anything at all. “Everything that happened, I wanted, okay? Don’t be sorry. ‘cause I want it to happen again sometime.” She gave him a tentative, somewhat sheepish smile. “But yeah...a movie sounds good right now.” They’d gone as far as she was comfortable right with right now. "Okay." Luke turned the car on and raised the roof back into place, flipping the headlights on and backing out. His hand found hers as he turned to start out toward the road. "Yeah, definitely I think I have a few dvds I rented back at the apartment." Thalia squeezed his hand. “That sounds fantastic,” she said, smiling back at him. She played with the necklace he’d given her with her other hand, thinking back over the night. “It’s been a really great date so far,” she told him. “Thanks for putting it together.” |
