"Her name is Abigail," he ground out, as he looked down at Abigail and tried to work out how to clear the fog from her. He couldn't let go of the padding at her back, and he couldn't let go of Abigail or she'd fall to the ground. He needed something he could rest her on temporarily that would hold the padding in place, and then he'd have a free hand to try and move the fog away from her or clear her throat or something...
"Stay!" he ordered the dog, like he'd seen Tommy try to do with Yuey, and carefully leaned down so that his hand was against K9's back, then quickly moved it out of the way. The dog was holding the padding in place, and Jake tried to pull the fog away from Abigail's throat with his blood-soaked hand.
