Jake nodded as she explained, vaguely paying attention to his phone where he'd dropped it on the ground. Sook replied a couple times while he was still checking for injuries Abigail wasn't aware of, and he tried, he tried so hard not to snap but he was dealing with too much. There was another sound as well, one he knew but couldn't place, but he busied himself with telling Sook to pass information on to the doctors.
He was hesitant to move her, but her breathing was affected and he couldn't leave her out in the forest when everything was acting like a predator. He got his knife out and quickly cut open her jacket, easier than fumbling with fastenings with his huge fingers. Keeping the bit by the wound where it was, the rest was folded up into a pad that Jake could hold in place against the wound, and then he carefully stood up, cradling Abigail against his chest. "Hold on," he murmured to her, leaving his phone where it was as he started to make sure she could travel. The noise he couldn't place was still there, and getting louder, but he still ignored it.
