Jake had been tracking Abigail since Dr. Lecter had asked him to do so, making his way through the forest and following her scent, even into the city for a short while. He'd followed the trail back out into the forest again, frowning when he recognized where he was headed towards, but her scent was getting stronger.
Just then, there was a sharp crack followed by a bright light a few seconds later that illuminated the fog all round him and made the forest even creepier than usual. And then he sniffed the air and there was the metallic tang of fresh blood. Not so unusual given the way the fog was making everything behave, but this was Abigail's blood. Jake took off at speed towards the blood-scent, his bow at the ready. He ignored the grasping hands of the fog as he ran, even as it knocked him into trees and the like, but soon enough he reached where the blood-scent was coming from and took in the scene in front of him in an instant.
Jake was a quick hunter with an excellent aim, and his arrow soon found its home in the stag's chest. It staggered away from Abigail and Jake chased it with another arrow as he approached his friend. The stag crumpled to the ground over by a tree and Jake would return to it later, but for now he needed to check on Abigail. "Kaltxi, ma 'eylan," he said softly as he gave her a visual check-over. The lit-up fog meant that he could easily see the blood all round her. "Abigail..." he began, but paused when Tsu'tey told him he was not hunting correctly, and that the strange creature needed to go to Eywa. "Oisss!" he hissed over his shoulder, then turned back to Abigail.
