Who: Steve and Peggy mostly, maybe Bucky later What: Braving the fog Where: Starting at the cottage, ending at apartments When: Friday morning Rating: probably swearing, scary fog stuffs Status: Closed/Ongoing
If he were honest, Steve didn't really want to do this. The fog,and what it was doing to his mind, was genuinely scaring him and he wished he could hold up in his room with his family and not deal with it at all. But he knew that wasn't possible. They couldn't even see out the windows any more and he was sure it was starting to seep in, no matter how well they tried to seal the house up, even if Peggy kept telling him it wasn't. They needed to move and this was the best way to do it without putting anyone else in any more danger than they needed to be.
He'd gotten everything he could think they might need in to a wheelbarrow-like cart he normally used to haul soil for the garden or chicken feed, and was set to go. He'd drawn out the route he planned to take and had made sure he could push the cart with one hand so he could stay on the phone with Peggy.
He'd gone around the house, first to the kids, then Bucky, then Peggy, making sure they knew he'd be back, promising to find them somewhere safe to go and kissing each. He'd then found the dog and tied her to one handle of the cart. She was starting to act not herself and he thought she needed to be free of the fog as much as he did, and there was a small part of him that worried about leaving her alone with the kids. Once he'd steeled himself, he pushed the cart out the front door and made sure to shut it as quickly as he could manage behind him. He pulled out his phone and dialed Peggy's number.
