He couldn't help but look disappointed. He'd hoped that the other man would know something that could help him. If people did just wake up here, as the other man had said, then maybe his own situation wasn't unique? He took the cup that was offered to him and absently took a sip. The tea was really quite hot and he made a bit of a face as he swallowed. Ow. His expression changed quickly, though, to one of surprise as the other man spoke. They knew each other?
He sat quietly, turning his cup of tea around slowly on the countertop for a minute or two. He was baffled. He knew he couldn't remember.. but why couldn't he remember? The other man clearly remembered him - why couldn't he do the same? He ran a hand through his hair. There were so many questions.
"Nick.. Cutler?" he said questioningly. "I-Who are you?" He hadn't thought to ask. "How-how dId we know each other?" He offered an apologetic sort of a look, then went back to playing with his cup.
