The last bits of sunlight were falling down on her as Kat made her way over to the pub. Her heels clicked on the asphalt. She had raided one of the stores for clothes earlier, feeling the need to get out of the ones she had arrived in. She wasn't where she wanted to be. Where she had intended to be. The stone she had used for travelling was shattered into pieces. A spell gone wrong. It had burned itself. She really needed to learn how to think things through and not let her temper get away with her. Decent preparation and she could be where she wanted to be now - with whom she wanted to be. Being on her own for a couple of hours had already driven her crazy. Too many thoughts. Too many fear and doubts. She couldn't deal with them. You have to face your fears, Kat, her moth - Holly's voice echoed in her head. But from her biggest fear, they had kept her away. All she wanted was her life back. A life that wasn't a lie. It would never happen. Just getting her mind off of things was the best she could do until she could think clearly again. She stepped into the pub, gave Mitchell a nod and then vanished into one of the corners, waiting for her distraction to show up. |
