Mary Ellen and Open
Mary Ellen hadn't planned on coming so late. Her initial idea had been to show up and leave before anyone had even gotten there. But then she'd started trying to put together something to put in the oven for dinner and things had gotten...complicated. She hadn't dressed up at all, wearing just a long baggy sweater and thick pair of leggings with her hair falling out of the braid she'd done up that morning, and was honestly a little surprised, that there were so many people there.
She found the food table and set her boxes down to pull out her phone, cursing under her breath when she realized it was nearly an hour later than she'd intended to be there and half an hour after the party had started. She quickly started to unload the caramel apples, which she'd wrapped up individually to make it cleaner and easier for everyone, and hoped she'd be able to dash out without being noticed too much.
