WHERE: Lobby
RATING: tbd
STATUS: Closed
Cassie stepped off the elevator, scanning the lobby for any sign of the elder Armstrong, but the area remained quiet and empty except for herself. Slowly, Cassie took a few careful steps into the larger, rather drafty space. Her boot heels clicked on tile; the sound loud and echoing around her. The blond paused, looking around once more, but found nothing to really hold her interest. The walls were plain white and there wasn't any furniture; just a few mailboxes lined the sides with rough names scribbled on the small slips of paper stuck to the copper. One look sent a shiver down her spine; her name and Jake's were pinning one of the boxes, but they'd only just arrived, right? How did they have it up already? It was impossible, but yet, there it was, in black in white, right in front of her vision.
For what seemed like the millionth time today, Cassie pushed up the sleeve of her jacket to pinch herself. However, just like the many times before, it didn't matter; she was still in the creepy lobby on a strange, unnamed island with no explanation and only Jake for back-up. She pushed her sleeve back down; the brief exposure to the cool air causing the teen witch to break out in goosebumps. Against her will, she shivered and quickly wrapped her arms around herself to ward off the sudden chill invading her system. It wasn't that Jake and her didn't get along, but after she had pushed him away in favor of Adam only for her relationship with the other man witch to cause her Jake to get sick. While Adam's feelings had faded easily with the digestion of the elixir, Cassie's Balcoin heritage kept the spell from working on her. Hence, she still cared for the witch even though he no longer cared for her in such a way. For all appearances, Jake seemed to have picked Faye up again and though Cassie shouldn't have been jealous, she found she felt a bit of envy towards the dark haired witch.
Now, Jake and her were the only ones here and she had to face the feelings that had nothing to hold them back now. The stars and their prophecies blinded Cassie from anyone else besides Adam, but with Adam gone, she found herself free to feel again for herself and no one else. It also made things uncomfortable with Jake. When he first came back, there had been a spark between them, a spark that had only been stopped by Adam. Without any of the others to interfer or be a distraction, they had to face each other, but if he loved Faye, would it even matter? Propping a shoulder up against the mailboxes, she closed folded her arms and pushed whatever was left away and focused on waiting for Jake. There were more important things to focus on then messed up feelings.
