Who: Amelia and Mitchell
Where: The pub
What: Meeting up
When: After this
Rating: Lowish?
Open: To pub people and Annie
Status: Unfinished

There hadn't been many customers so far. He had been the first of the employers around. All in all, Mitchell was rather bored. He had slumped down in one of the chairs. His laptop was standing on the table in front of him, his feet rested on another chair. He had already sorted through the CDs and added a few new ones. When the door finally opened, his interest perked up. The blond haired girl looked very much like the woman he had talked to on the net. "Hey," he greeted her with a smile. He put all of his Irish accent into that tiny word.

Amelia glanced around the tavern, briefly orienting herself. She seemed small in a place like this, and that's because she was--small enough to put it in question as to whether she was of legal drinking age. It didn't particularly matter what legal drinking age one used.

"Hello, sir," she spoke up, heading towards the table. She smiled a little back at him--for whatever reason, Amelia liked his accent. "A-are you Mitchell?" She chose to stay standing for now, since she didn't know what to expect in this establishment. Pubs were generally friendly in her experience, but then, none of them had been on this island.

Mitchell's eyebrows raised when she called him 'sir'. He wasn't sure what had provoked that word. From his heavy boots over the leather jacket and the fingerless gloves, Mitchell had never put a lot of effort into being a 'sir', maybe she was just one of these people who called every man 'sir'.

"That's the one," he said with a smile. "Can I get you anything?" Having grown up in the early 20th century, Mitchell himself did not care about the legal drinking age. There was none on the island and every kid that wanted to get drunk, just had to roam the stores outside the city center to find alcohol. He would deny young teens drinks but the girl in front of him seemed old enough to make up her own mind. "You know you are allowed to sit down," he said with a chuckle.

Amelia pulled up a chair at the same table and took a seat. For a moment, she didn't say anything, as if nervous or trying to figure out what to say, but she otherwise seemed at ease with Mitchell. "Yes, sir. Um, what do you have available? Wines, specifically." Amelia asked. If anything, calling him 'sir' seemed the be a default. "Lower quality is fine. N-not to imply anything about your selection," she added hastily.

"Wine?" Most people in his pub weren't after wine. "AJ doesn't do any wines but I have a few. Err..." He got up and walked over to the bar. "Yeah, here." He snatched a bottle right next to the 'If no one is around or we can't be bothered, go serve yourself'-sign. "It's a Shiraz from Australia," he said. "There's a Pinot Noir from, err, France. Actually, two from France. Or do you want a white one?" He was sure there were more wines upstairs in the storage. He flipped pushed open the fridge with the white wines.

Amelia didn't know how wine quality worked off the top of her head, so she took the moment necessary to pull it from the encyclopedic part of her mind. Then she wondered if Mitchell picked up on the 'don't bother giving me anything nice' hint, or if he was just ignoring it and offering her Pinot Noir anyway. Either way, he seemed nice. "White, please." Amelia laced her hands together in her lap.

The vampire dropped down to his knees. "New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc or a German Riesling? Oh hey, look at this. Do you want one from the 19th century?" Someone had dropped one off from the door to Germany and it was still in the fridge. Mitchell himself had never taken any real interest in it. He drank wine occasionally but had never really taken any interest in it. He much preferred beer.

Yeah, he didn't get the hint. Amelia looked down at the table. "19th century? ...Um, y-you can save that for, for someone who can appreciate it." One could count her stuttering among the other reasons she was unimpressive in person. "I don't have any strong preferences. M...maybe the Sauvignon Blanc, then?" Amelia might have had preferences if she had grown up with the opportunity to develop them, but as it stood, she knew she wouldn't be able to tell if a wine was good or not just by taste.

"Sure," he said and snatched the bottle. The other hand grabbed a wine glass and carried it other to the table where his own beer was still standing. One advantage of a dead liver was that it did not matter how much he drank. He hadn't had alcohol every day but since he had his own business and the alcohol was free his consumption had increased. "Here.Take how much you want, just don't toss the bottle away. AJ can still need it."

"Yes, sir." Amelia smiled and poured out half a glass full for herself; she didn't know how strong it was and she had a weak tolerance, so it was best to start small. "Um, I only know a few people right now--AJ?" she asked. She wondered what someone would use a wine bottle in particular for, but it wasn't really her business.

"Err... that's the one who owns the farm. All of the fruits here, the wheat, the self-brewed beer, they come from her. She's doing cider as well. I just keep all the bottles I can find for her. Beggars can't be choosers, eh?" His glance shortly fell on her neck before he cast it to the side. Her heart beat pounded in his ears. "So, are you a human?" he asked with his usual bluntness. He wasn't one to waste his time on a slow and gentle build up to a question. With Annie and Sophia it was different. Sometimes with Maryanne. Men should just take it in his opinion and most women should be able to handle simple questions as well.

"Okay. Good to know. J-Just from hearing what she does, um, she seems nice." Amelia took a sip of wine. It tasted...well, she didn't know how to describe the taste of wine, but she liked it.

His blunt question didn't even faze her because it was a reasonable one, but it occurred to her that he wouldn't know what exactly Gaia was like, so a bit of context was in order. "Yes. I-it's a minority race from my original world, since, since we don't have powers as often as others. Um, do you mind if I ask what you are, too?" She added.

Her quick heartbeat fluctuated between minutes, rising and falling in pace with her nervousness. It might be distracting.

Jesus, she needed to relax. Mitchell noticed the nervousness that rushed through her veins. "Err... a vampire. Hence the sign." He cocked his head to the bar where another sign was displayed. No bleeding or blood drinking! "What's your world like? Do you have vampires and ghosts and werewolves as well?"

She glanced over at the sign and then back at Mitchell. "Okay." Said in the same tone as if the sign mentioned something more along the lines of 'gluten-free'. Situation normal. "Y-yes. Vampires are one of the most common races, a-and werewolves are up there too, um, about the same population as angels but behind demons. Ghosts are, are much rarer, but, they're out there. And, most humans that matter are 'metahumans', which, um, means they have one or more powers," Amelia explained. "I'm...I'm technically a metahuman, but my ability isn't combat-related. So no one will ever care." She sighed a bit.

((OOC: If Mitchell decides to drink some of her blood, I have no problems with that.))

"What are your powers?" he asked. Mitchell himself had learned to leave the battles to others. He had already given his life for a cause that was not his own - not even his country's - once. No need to do it again. He would protect the people that were dear to him and step in when no one else was there to do it but as long as there were soldiers around, he did not have to put his own head in the sling of battle.

(OoC: Cheers! But he's clean. He doesn't drink blood. And if he would take some of hers, she would end up dead. He's shit at stopping.)

"Oh. Um." She'd been asked before, but only back before she acquired it, so it felt weird to actually have an answer instead of saying she was completely mundane. Amelia took another sip of wine before responding. "I, I absorbed an artifact that gives me encyclopedic knowledge of basically whatever I want, s-so long at it appeared in my world. So, um, I couldn't look up anything about the island, or anyone here, but, I can talk about most universal concepts like an expert. I-if I have a moment to think about it. It's a separate part of my mind that I, I have to consciously use."

It was useful, sure, but it didn't solve the Falling Problem like most other powers did. Another sip of wine.

((OOC: Hah, interesting. Didn't know about his canon, but I thought I'd mention it.))

"Babe." Annie buzzed in with the baby on her shoulder. "It's all going to crap...I'm meant to be the queen of marriage, but I'm not totally sure what to do...Oh hey." Annie turned a bright smile on the newcomer.

The vampire smiled and shifted his gaze when he heard Annie's voice. "Hey... what's wrong?" he asked. "Are you not getting the right cake for the 'my husband is the best'-party?" He kept his tone light and teasing. It did not seem to be a matter of life and death and a little teasing never hurt if you asked Mitchell. "Err... this is Amelia. Amelia, this is my wife Annie who is currently the goddess of marriage. Uhm, Amelia here has an encyclopedia in her head. Maybe she can help..." He shrugged and glanced up at Annie. "You want anything to drink?"

"H-hello, Annie." Amelia took another sip of her wine. "Um, relationship advice..." Suddenly someone needed help, so, she felt obligated to do what she could. "Can you, um, give us some more details on what the worst relationships between people are right now? Is it mostly between the other gods?"

"Yeah, it's basically life here," Mitchell said. In his opinion people just needed to chill a bit more. He laid his arms around Annie's hip and drew her in. "Everything is always just temporary. Well, most of the time. Don't attack the Spire or more permanent things might happen." He had his own shape changing abilities from a pissed off struggle with everyone's favourite tower. "People just have to realise that it's only temporary. It's the person without the god or goddess that stays and that's the one that should matter." It was how Annie had dealed with him during the last craziness. She had told him he wasn't her husband and she had been right about that.

"I think we've got the hang on that, don't we?" he said and smiled up at her.

"Well panic and hurt people...or don't...I prefer not doing." Annie leaned into him. "It may hurt when these things happen, but it ends."
