It had taken quite a bit of convincing to get Neytiri to wait for her before heading to the hospital. Rachel knew that Jake's wheelchair was somewhere in the attic and it didn't take her long to find it. It was the one thing that she could actually do. Get him his chair. "We must hurry!" Neytiri insisted as Rachel came out of the attic slowly carrying the chair. "I know, I know. We're hurrying, I promise." Rachel sighed as she shifted the chair in her grip. She then started out of the house with Neytiri close behind her. Neytiri continued to mutter under her breath as they walked, a prayer to Eywa for Jake. She had known that something was wrong. Had felt it from the time she woke up, but she didn't know exactly what it was. And now she knew. So she prayed that Eywa watch over Jake and keep him safe. Even though he was in the hospital, she still prayed. Rachel just kept quiet, letting her aunt do what she needed to do to keep calm. Keeping calm was the most important thing. When they finally got to the hospital, it didn't take long to find the room. Rachel brought the chair in and set it up by the bed. Neytiri moved over and sat on the bed, taking Jake's hand in one hand and touching his cheek with the other. "It will be okay, ma Jake." |
