So far, things were going quite good. He had met a few great people, especially Sookie had gained a special place in his heart. He had found a way to feel normal on occasions and there was no need for working anymore. No rent, no grocery shopping, no fuel. Nonetheless, he missed the absent part of his family. Mike, Axl, Olaf. The one he didn’t miss was Eva. He thought about her. He worried about her. But he never wished that she was here. Today was the first day he had left his wedding ring on the bedside table. It just didn’t feel right anymore.
Ty cracked an egg into the bowl before chucking the shells into the garbage. A second egg followed. “I’m making scrambled eggs for breakfast. You want some?” he called out to his brother.

“I’ll just have coffee,” Anders muttered in reply as he walked out of his room. It was a typical morning for Anders, hungover from staying at the pub and the club all night before crashing once he got home. He didn’t remember much of the night before but he figured considering he lacked bruises or injuries, Bragi made sure to do the talking.
Without so much as a look at his brother, Anders moved over to the fish tank first and grabbed the pot of food. He sprinkled a few flakes in the top before he just stood there, watching the fish feeding.

“Someone’s in a good mood,” Ty commented. “Is someone still in your bedroom or did she already go home?” He thought that he could imagine his brother’s night all too well. Getting drunk somewhere and using his powers to talk the blondest and stupiest girl into bed with him.
With one swift movement, he bowed down and caught the frying pan from the pantry and put it onto the hot plate.

“No one there. Don’t worry, you don’t have anyone else to offer food to,” Anders said, moving over to make himself a coffee. He leaned against the side and watched his brother. “It’s a bit ironic don’t you think? You like cooking but your permanently cold.”

Ty glanced up at his brother, already feeling slightly irritated. “You know you could be a bit more creative. You are always picking on the same things again and again.” He poured the finished scrambled eggs mix into the now heated frying pan.

Anders rolled his eyes and drank some of his coffee. "It was just an observation, chill out."

There - he did it again. He just couldn’t leave it be. He put the spatula down. “Do you ever think about another person’s feeling when you talk?” Ty asked. He could only take so much of Anders’ teasing and he decided that that point had been reached.

“You know, not every phrase or reference involving cold shit is about you,” Anders pointed out, gulping down his coffee. Then he shrugged. “And why should I? It’s not my fault everyone’s so bloody sensitive.”

“Bloody sensitive? You have no idea what it is like to be me,” Ty said. He was starting to forget about the food in front of him and focus his attention solely on the source of his irritation.

Anders shivered as the room temperature dropped. “Thankfully. I wouldn’t want to know, seems dull and despressing,” he shot back.

Even Loki had to admit that was a cheap shot from the Bragi. He would enjoy the exploitation of this mortal side and his need to be noticed. He thought briefly of Thor, the sceptre swirling as he stood invisible in their presence.
Manipulation was so easy.

“ Yes, Anders. Yes, it is," he replied angrily. He didn't get it. He didn't want to get it and that hurt. It shouldn't hurt anymore but it still did.

“And this is why you became mortal, it’s not my fault you’re still stuck with Hod,” Anders said with a shrug. “And do you mind, some of us don’t like the cold.”

Some of us don't like the cold. Oh, Ty got what Anders really wanted. “Fine. I'll move out. You could have just said so."

Anders blinked at him. “Where the fuck did that come from?”

Loki just smirked, sat on one of the spare counters, completely invisible. He had to make sure Bragi was let loose. He needed that power restored to its glory, knowing Hod had the sway over the mortal side of Bragi was just the tipping point he needed. Loki’s sceptre, clutched in his hand, glowed brightly, manipulating the God side of Hod into action.
“Pathetic.” Loki whispered, though neither mortal would hear it. He simply loved being in control.

“ You just said so," Ty growled. “ I'm sorry, Anders. But I can't do anything else." His eyes fell on the pan in front of him. The eggs looked like the heat had barely touched them. At least, on the top. Trying to scratch them off, revealed a different reality. The bottom was burned. " Shit!" he cursed loudly.

“Oh please, where did I say fuck off and take your wankered air conditioning with you? Because I’m pretty sure I’d remember saying that outloud,” Anders shot back, his brow creased in a frown. He glanced at the eggs. “Glad I chose the coffee.”

“ You just said that I should take away the cold. And you know that I have no control over it," Ty tried to justify himself. He started to angrily scratch the eggs into the rubbish bin, teasing them as if they had just cause his emotions.

“I meant calm the fuck down, dickwad,” Anders said, rolling his eyes. “Maybe if you embraced your inner god a bit more you might have some bloody control.” He sipped his coffee and grimaced at the fact it was now stone cold. “Maybe if you got laid a bit more you wouldn’t be so uptight all the bloody time.”

“Just because I don't jump into bed with every blond I see, doesn't mean I'm uptight. It's called having morals." He slapped the rubbish bin shut and tossed the pan into the sink. “ And it's not like I don't want to have a relationship. Hod makes it impossible."

“Who said anything about a relationship? You don’t have to fall in love with them. Just pick her up, take her home or go to hers and bang her!” Anders said, putting his coffee cup down. “Seriously, bro, you have got to stop using Hod as an excuse. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind sliding into something hot and tight once in a while."

Loki himself wanted to punish the mortal Bragi for his words. He knew that Hod had taken a shine to the girl with the sun power at her fingertips, even had a soft spot for the way she glowed. Even Loki for all his coldness could see the yearning in Ty for a connection.
He used the sceptre on Ty, just to push and punish Bragi.

Ty snapped. He didn't use Hod as an excuse. Anders knew how things had turned it out with Dawn. None of it had been his fault. Ty's fist collide with his brother's chin. He didn't put all the strength he had into the punch but it would be enough to properly hurt. Anders needed to learn that he couldn't treat people like that.

Anders’ head whipped back a bit as Ty hit him and then his hand went to his chin. “What the fuck?” He blinked at his brother and then glared at him. He flexed his jaw, wincing slightly before checking he hadn’t bitten his lip or something.
“What the fuck is wrong with you? That fucking hurt, you dick.” He shoved his brother in the chest with both hands, as hard as he could muster right now.

Loki smirked. Chaos would reign supreme if he had control over the brothers. Their rivalry would blow the island to pieces under his feet. He would take the throne and claim his birthright.
He fixed the glowing light on Ty one last time.

Ty fixed his hand on Anders head and pushed back as hard as he could. "It's not like you don't hurt people. You just use different methods." Nonetheless, he felt guilty for punching Anders.

Anders felt himself lose his balance as Ty shoved him back and he fell backwards, barely missing catching his head on the side. It wasn’t so much the impact of hitting the floor that hurt really, it was the surprise at being pushed that hard by his brother.
A flashback of Axl throwing him across the room of Mike’s bar went through his head and his had went unconsciously to his neck, almost expecting to see the blood there.

The smirk on his lips made Loki’s eyes grow cold and blue. If only Thor were around to see the pathetic Asgardian Gods so easily controlled by his power: Thor would hate it and Loki would only feel more proud.
His work done at isolating Anders, he brought the light back to his sceptre and disappeared to leave the mortals to their squabbling.

For a moment Ty was stunned by his own actions. He stared down at Anders. And before he could grasp a thought, he was ripped out of it by a noise besides him. The glass of a wine bottle had shattered and a block of wine lay on the counter. “I-" He needed to get out of here before he hurt Anders even more.

Anders jumped at the sound of the bottle shattering and his head snapped round to look at the block of wine and broken glass. He regretted the movement though and winced at the slight pain it caused but his gaze didn’t leave the wine. Fuck. Ty really was pissed off. Beyond pissed off, if he was shattering bottles. Anders had already been killed by one of his younger brothers, he didn’t fancy being killed by the other.

Ty stared at the shards and then back at Anders. "I need to go," he said shortly before he pushed past his brother. He needed to get away from people.
