Following her rather traumatic experience with the game, Isra had gone to ground again as soon as she'd had the chance. It seemed that her earlier tactic of keeping to herself and what she was used to really was the best way to get by here. No taking her chances with the adults here and no playing of games. Although she did still intend to thank the people who had looked after her. She assumed they were friends of Mitchell's, but she hadn't gotten around to asking him yet. She kept vowing to though. Her reasons for being back at the apartments now, however, had nothing to do with Mitchell or his friends. Most of the supplies had since been moved to the basement of the apartment buildings and she was in short supply. So that's where Isra found herself now. She'd collected a variety of canned goods - fish, fruit, vegetables - into her backpack, which she held in her hands in front of her. There was less than she'd anticipated down here. A lot more people had turned up since the game had started, it seemed. She'd moved onto the packets now though, and found herself amongst the cookies. Isra picked up a packet of chocolate ones and began to read the name on the packet when she heard movement nearby. She froze, packet in hand. She had been hoping that no one else would venture down there while she was taking things. |
