He knew the Doctor had said something, but Jake was too busy with Banshee to respond just yet. The Ikran's heart rate was through the roof, and his breathing was all over the place and he was shivering all over. The bond went both ways, and Jake could feel his body beginning to respond in kind, so he started throwing memories of good things at his ikran - their first flight, once Jake had worked out what he was meant to do, or the time Neytiri and him had taken Seze and Banshee flying at first light, and they hadn't returned to Hometree until late at night and all they'd done was fly, or any number of flights... and throwing Jake into the lake at the Weyr, Banshee liked that. And the feeling they got after a successful hunt.
The whole time he was showing Banshee their memories, he was forcing him to breathe deeply, big breaths in at the front of his chest and big exhales through the ...uh, gills at the back, which in turn helped to slow down the ikran's racing heartbeat. The deep breathing was helping Jake as well, forcing his body to fight back against Banshee's panicked overrides.
After a few minutes, Banshee was much quieter but still very frantic. Jake risked splitting his attention and looked round at the Doctor. "Ngaytxoa, ke stawm... Liveyn rutxe?" He didn't even realize he was talking Na'vi and not English.
