Who: Matilda and open Where: Somewhere quiet in the jungle When: Early evening-ish What: Thinking over what happened Rating/status: Low/Open
Madi sat with the knife in her hand by her side, thinking with some amusement that like that rude man had told her, they were in a fucking arena, so really she should be on guard the entire time. It wasn't that she wasn't taking it seriously, but the way he'd kept saying the same thing had been so ridiculous when she had no personal concept of what that meant, beyond the location. Which was a jungle, yes. But maybe he could have provided some more description than those two words alone.
She didn't want to dwell too much on what had happened between she and Maryanne. The worst part of it all in the end was the accusation that they were all lazy, and somehow expected something for nothing. That had absolutely no basis in reality. There had been blood rain and then an ice storm. They hadn't been able to do much of anything. And they still had to figure out where everything was, because of that. And despite all that she knew that Logan had made offers of help, regardless.
She leaned her head against the trunk of the tree behind her, and looked up at the branches above her. She half expected to see some terrifying beast or something looking down at her. But there was nothing.
