Quinn had taken Grace out to the beach while Rachel was getting everything ready. She knew better than to try and offer to help. She knew that Rachel was one of those she had to do it herself people. Quinn wanted to get out of the line of fire. Grace seemed worried about something, too, and Quinn wasn't exactly sure what it was. Quinn wanted to get her alone and talk about it. She knew that Grace was sort of seeing Raymond Grey, and she had to admit, she was a little nervous about that. But mostly because Quinn was still adjusting to being the mother of a teenage girl. Who was only about a year younger than she still was.
They sat out on the beach and talked for awhile, Grace told her she'd been worried about Rachel, mostly, but she had been concerned about Raymond's parents. She had been concerned because they'd had trouble working things out, and she hadn't wanted Raymond to be born as someone else because his parents hadn't worked it out. Quinn told her that she understood that. She wasn't sure that Rachel was going to be so sad anymore, but she told their daughter that she was sure that Rachel was doing better, because she was sure that she was.
Quinn and Grace left to go back to the apartment, Grace felt a lot better after the conversation. Quinn called out to Rachel when they got home. "Rachel, baby, we're home!" She really hoped that Rachel was finished cooking, one, because she was anxious to have their family dinner, and two, because she wasn't sure that she and Grace could stay gone longer.
"Are you all done cooking?" Quinn asked, as they entered the kitchen.
