Okay so she was a lot nervous meeting Ernest Hemingway. The actual, apparently, Ernest Hemingway. Abigail's life had been found in the pages of his books, ever since she could remember. Bad days became good with the turn of a cover and she was happy again. Her hands shook a little and she wondered if it'd be appropriate to ask for his signature. It was like meeting the person who'd climbed into her own brain and planted wonderful ideas, thoughts, dreams of how the world is and what it should be. Every time Abigail turned back to a Hemingway, she felt at home.
Maybe she would come to regret meeting her hero, like she'd heard, but how could anyone resist the opportunity? It was just too exciting and she had to remember not to just fawn over him like a teenager all over again. It was bad enough with Bobby Morse in high school and he was just a crush. She'd made sure to take her notebook with her though. For fun.
At the time she'd arranged with him, Abigail walked into the café in her plaid shirt and favourite jeans that actually fitted with her boots and looked around, wondering if she was too early. Or worse, that he'd not turn up.
