"That would make the most sense from my point of view." Izzy said bluntly. "If you want to call me 'mom' I'm not going to stop you, but as far as I'm concerned I haven't earned the title yet. A mom is someone who stays up with you at night when you're sick, kisses your scraped elbows and knees when you're little. A mom is someone who makes sure you do all the things you don't want to do but have to so you grow up as sane and well adjusted as possible."
She took another swig and looked back at her 'daughter'. "I hope I did all that for you in the future when you were born and growing up, but it hasn't happened for me yet. I'd feel like a fraud if I tried to claim you as a daughter when we're the same age."
