"Aw, don't be ridiculous, sweet! I mean, the care you took with ickle baby Bumby was enough for him to not break, right? I mean - obviously, or he wouldn't even be Sitting here today....!" Figuratively speaking, at least, given that Bumby was fortunately off playing with some other kids, rather than have to see his own father contemplating bloody suicide like this.
"I mean, that's all the care you really need to take with this baby, too...! It's not like girls are inherently more breakable than boys... Especially not if she inherited my powers! I mean, not that we should really test it at her just yet, but -- well. I remember my parents talking constantly about the first time I manifested my power, by actually creating a rope out of my hair when I almost fell off a balcony! I mean, of course, I didn't do it quite right, and I DID almost die whilst I was hanging there... But - well - I think I did rather good for a two-year-old, don't you? I mean, thinking to turn my hair into a bloody noose to hold me up from falling down the balcony...?"
She giggled nervously, little bit, at the memory of the first time she'd understood the danger behind this story, even though she had serious issues with things around her neck (including, unfortunately, hands!) to this day, due to the sense memory of that bloody noose around her neck...
