Steve had finished early on the farm and rather than head through to New York, where most of their services had started to become less and less needed as professionals started to set up camp in the city and more and more volunteers started showing up to help.
So he'd packed up the lunch Peggy had left him along with some of Stevie's food and stopped at the bakery to pick up the little boy, taking him for lunch and a long afternoon in the park as well as giving Peggy a bit of a break. He'd settled them in under a tree in the middle of the park while they ate and spent the rest of the afternoon playing with the little boy in the grass with a few of his toys.
When Clint and Charlie came nearby it was Stevie who noticed them first, grabbing hold of his Bucky bear and toddling over to the nearby path. A small but too-strong hand went out to grab on to the side of the stroller, the little boy's other hand holding out the blue and red bear to the other baby. Ba! Ba! he babbled over and over with a grin. "Sorry." Steve offered Clint with a small smile, stepping up behind the little boy, carefully getting him to let go of the carriage before he broke it.
