"Fair point," he conceded, remembering well how different the doctors on this island were to the doctors of his own time. Plus, Ernest himself had a basic nurses training, surely that would be about enough to get them through this.
He nodded, and first grabbed some clean towels- there was easy access to plenty of hot water in the bathroom. Then, he moved to the floor- he gently pulled Rhonda to lie with her back against his chest. One arm held her close, and with the other, he gently brushed at her hair and her forehead.
"There we go. It's okay. It'll all be over soon," he assured her soothingly.
